Our Story

Passionately dedicated to cultivating the spirituality and faith of young Christians, Ripples of Joy (ROJ) started as a faith-in-action arm of Ripple VAs, a virtual assistance and leadership company based in the Philippines. Before its position today as a non-profit, ROJ served as a missional outpost on campus, shaking students’ spiritual foundations and empowering them to live transformed lives, subsequently becoming channels for positive change in the world.

ROJ traces its roots in 2020 in the life-changing experiences of the inaugural scholarship recipients of Ripple VAs, notably Jayle Canoy and Kimberly Bionson, both students at Bukidnon State University (BukSU). Recognizing the paramount role education plays in shaping the youth’s future, Ripple VAs took a steadfast commitment to going above and beyond through the provision of tuition scholarships aimed at dismantling financial barriers that impeded the realization of the students’ dreams.

Building on this foundation, in 2022, the scholarship program expanded its reach, offering opportunities to six outstanding students from diverse academic backgrounds at BukSU, Negros Oriental State University (NORSU), and the University of the Philippines (UP)-Cebu. This expansion not only celebrated academic excellence but also opened doors for the holistic development of the younger generation through transformative leadership skills.

Later in 2023, Ripple VAs took a significant step forward by establishing its first-ever campus ministry organization at NORSU — the Ripples of Joy Campus Ministries. Inspiring a sense of collective responsibility, leadership, and camaraderie among like-minded persons, the ministry aspires to cultivate an atmosphere that encourages young people to participate actively in civic engagement or projects. It also employs a distinctive approach that knits leadership training with a biblical perspective, guiding young individuals toward becoming influential leaders capable of initiating a positive ripple effect in their communities.

Currently, ROJ has grown into a platform that anyone all around the country may use to showcase their enthusiasm, commitment, and desire to make a difference across the globe. As envisioned by Ripple VAs CEO Jez Perez, ROJ now encompasses all aspects of every young soul’s growth and development. Likewise, ROJ warmly welcomes donors and supporters who share its vision of radiating radical transformation.
